Mission statement

‘’World Outgames Antwerpen 2013 is committed to organize a first-class worldwide social event in August 2013 that has three main pillars: fair play in sports, cultural engagement and a universal conscience of human rights’’

The wolrdOutgames started in Montreal in 2006, went to Copenhagen in 2009 and are coming to Antwerp in August 2013. This international event consists of three equally important pillars: a sports competition with 4500 athletes competing in 30+ different sports, a cultural festival including an opening and closing ceremony, theatre, the Rainbow and Wome'ns Village, museums and many parties. Our international LGBT human rights conference attended by about 300 people will be leading to the "Delcaration of Antwerp'. We're also proud to announce that one of our highlights will be the Mr. Gay world 2013 competition that wil be integrated during 5 days in the worldOutgames. In 2013, Antwerp will be the European Sports Capital, and the worldOutgames will take an important part in it.

An estimated 20.000 visitors are expected each day in Antwerp during the worldOutgames.
The organization wants to invite both the city of Antwerp as well as athletic man and woman from the entire world to spread the motto ‘Love United’ during the year that Antwerp is the European Sports Capital.
