Types of tournament
Preliminary rounds: in groups of five teams
Final round: K.O. system

Tournament organization
Each team is allocated to a group and plays in the preliminary rounds against all the other teams of its group. Based on the number of matches won, teams will be admitted to the finals matches. During the final the teams play against each other in a knock out system: the losing team leaves the tournament. The two teams with the most wins will play the final.
The duration of each match is 4 x 8 minutes with rest periods of 2 – 5 – 2 minutes. The match will be played with a running clock. The total length of each game is 45 minutes.
On the final day there will be also the possibility to play friendly matches.

Timespan: 4 days: Monday until Wednesday, 5 to 8 August 2013.

Welcome to basketball at the worldOutgames 2013. This quick and tactical sport has its origin in America and is widespread in Europe. Being tall and a team player will give you an advantage on court. Nevertheless we welcome men and women from all over the world with any given physiology. With four divisions there is certainly a level for every team. Individuals can also register. They will be matched according to their level.
