Type of tournament

Shotgun competition, estimated timespan: 5 hours.
There is a limit of 120 players allowed in our golf competition in order to guarantee the smoothness of playing.

Categories and divisions

A:
Men: 0 - 18.4 handicap
Women: 0 - 12.4 handicap
B:
Men: 18.5 - 28.4 handicap
Women: 12.5 - 18.4 handicap
C:
Men: 28.5 - 36 handicap
Women: 18.5 - 28.4 handicap
D:
Men: 36.1 - 45 handicap
Women: 28.5 - 36 handicap

Tournament organization

Main competition: at least two 18-hole rounds per participant.
Recreational: for those who wish to discover the fine sport of golf, there’s an opportunity to take part in a “start to golf” course. This will cost € 15/person/h, and is offered in a block of 2 hours on each play day.

Day-pass: For those who want to play only one full day of golf, there's a possibility to buy a "one-day-pass". This will cost € 90 and with it you can play a competition for one day (Monday, Wednesday or Friday) with the main competition golfers.

Be sure to give your federal liga number (if applicable) AND your handicap if you’re signing up for the main competition. This is necessary for us to create the right categories.
For the recreational part, you can sign up via our website (indicate the day of your choice) or you can book the start to golf at the venue itself.

In case of fewer participants than expected, the timespan of the competition might be shortened.

Schedule:

Monday: arrival at the golf course 10.00 – 10.30. Start of the shotgun: 11.00. End: around 16.00
Wednesday: arrival at the golf course 10.00 – 10.30. Start of the shotgun: 11.00. End: around 16.00
Friday: arrival at the golf course 11.00 – 11.30. Start of the shotgun: 12.00. End: around 17.00.

There is an opportunity on Friday to join us at the closing barbecue after the last play of the day. The medal awards ceremony will form part of this, so be sure to sign up! More info about this is coming soon.

Depending on the number of participants, it is possible that the schedule will be reduced to two play days on Monday and Wednesday.

Governing and sanction rules*

Competition will be held according the rules of the Royal and Ancient Club of St. Andrews.

If we reach our maximum number of registration, we might opt for a second venue at a nearby green in Edegem. This is depending on the number of participants and their handicap. However, if this is the case, you’ll be informed in due time.

Public transport

This location is accessible by public transport. Once the travel times from the bus company for 2013 are known, this information will be communicated on our website.

Awards ceremony

Bronze, silver and gold medals for each division and category. One "Brutt" gold medal will be granted to the best overall male and female competitor.

What is golf?

We invite all golf enthusiasts who are members of an approved golf club to join us at this international competition for fun and medals.

Golf – a special combination of nature and sports. Lots of green, one white ball and 18 holes. Add to this the challenge of choosing the right club and the right tactic to finish with the fewest strokes possible and you have a competitive game of endless fun!

The tournament guarantees suspense and fun!
