Types of tournament

Day 1:
On day 1 the archers shoot 2 times 36 arrows that count towards the qualification for the elimination / final rounds. Before the start of the first 36-arrows qualification, archers will have two practice ends of 3 arrows.

Day 2:

On day 2, there is one set of 36 arrows shot that counts towards qualification for the elimination / final rounds. The track allocation will be based on the ranking of day 1. Before the start of this set of 36 arrows, archers will shoot two ends of 3 arrows to practise.

This final set of 36 arrows will determine the rankings and whetheryou’re into the final rounds. It may be possible that a shoot-off will take place in case of archers' equal scores. This is done using the ‘closest-to-the-centre’ principle. Once the finalists are known, we will start with the eliminations.

Elimination and final rounds :

The top 32 shooters of the qualification shoot the elimination rounds. This will happen on 25 m, 80 cm target faces. Eliminations will be shot according to the set system. Each match consists of five sets of 3 arrows. The winner is the first one to obtain 6 points.

Points count per set:

An archer who wins a set gets 2 points.
An archer who loses a set gets 0 points.
In the case of equal points being gained eachshooter gets 1 point.
When an archer has a total of 6 points the game is over.
Finals (bronze and gold) will be shot withthe same set system, but with shooting alternately.

Final remarks

If there are too few registrations for a particular category, the organisation may decide to adjust the categories. Example: the recurve men and recurve women together or the compound women and compound men together in one category.

Participants must demonstrate correct shooting technique and they must know the safety rules of archery. They have their own equipment (bow, arrows, other equipment) available. This contest is a competition, but not an initiation!

This tournament will be organized with the support of the Handboogliga:
